Our second episode of the four-part Call My Lawyer! series addresses key legal considerations of the business of medicine, when purchasing a medical practice.
Hanya’s expert guest is Megan Warren, who is the principal lawyer at Burke & Associates Lawyers, in High Street Armadale, Victoria, Australia.
Megan has provided excellent legal advice to Hanya’s medical business clients over the years – now our listeners will benefit from the knowledge shared by both their legal and business insights.
Today’s episode deals specifically with the due diligence involved when buying a medical practice – identifying some of the risks that might be present. Whether it is a first practice or second or third, we sometimes see that excitement can tend to cloud the view, in terms of clients often only seeing the positive, which can be a little dangerous. So that’s why a huge part of our job is to never dampen in the entrepreneurial spirit of our clients, rather educate them about what the risks are and things to look out for.
